Olaughics history - 2012, 2013 and 2014
The Olaughics started in Manchester in 2012. 2013 saw the launch of Wales National Laughter Day (12th June) and LaughWales, a project to promote laughter throughout the country and in particular in areas of social deprivation.
In 2013 we also had a one day focus on each of Scotland, Northern Ireland and England, and these will continue to develop and grow - forming LaughScotland, LaughNI and LaughEngland.
In 2014 we had a Laughter Party in Manchester for 120 people, and a conference for 110 people from around the UK and overseas.

Laughter helps people to be more effective, more productive, more creative, and better communicators. Laughter brings us together!
Laughter is a universal language.
It is something we do naturally from just a few weeks old. It brings communities and individuals together.
World Laughter Master Belachew Girma, world record holder for continuous laughter, calls it a ‘diplomacy pass key’.
And just by laughing, we improve our health and happiness and lower our stress levels. This is simply because our physiology changes when we laugh!
